Kyiv : At least two people were killed and more than a dozen others injured in a shooting incident in Ukraine’s capital Kyiv on Saturday, triggering panic in the area and a swift security response.

According to local authorities, the gunman opened fire in a crowded part of the city, leaving multiple people wounded before security forces moved in to secure the area. The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals, where some were reported to be in critical condition.

Police cordoned off the scene and launched an investigation into the incident. Officials said efforts were underway to identify the attacker and determine the motive behind the shooting.
