Washington/Tehran: The United States has issued a stern warning to Iran, saying military action could resume if Tehran refuses to accept the proposed peace deal. US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that American forces remain fully prepared and could launch fresh strikes on Iran’s energy facilities, power infrastructure, and other strategic targets if required.
Hegseth also said the US would continue its naval blockade around Iran to maintain economic and strategic pressure. According to American officials, several vessels have already been forced to turn back, while maritime routes remain under strict surveillance.
Senior US military officials claimed that Iran is attempting to restore its damaged military assets and missile systems, but its capabilities have weakened significantly. Washington indicated that it is using the ceasefire period to further strengthen its military readiness.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said the possibility of an agreement with Iran still exists, but warned that if talks fail, conflict could erupt again. The developments have raised fresh concerns over renewed tensions in the Middle East.
