Desk : US President Donald Trump has taken a tough stance on Iran, stating that Tehran must first prepare a formal proposal based on Washington’s terms if it wants to move forward with negotiations.

Trump indicated that the United States would not send its delegation for any potential talks unless Iran presents a clear and structured proposal. His remarks come amid growing diplomatic discussions regarding possible engagements between the US and Iran in Islamabad, Pakistan.

According to sources, Pakistan is playing a mediating role in the developing situation, with efforts underway to explore the possibility of indirect dialogue between the two sides in Islamabad. A US delegation comprising a special envoy and senior officials is expected to be part of the process if it moves forward.

However, Iran has made it clear that it has no plans for direct talks with the United States during the Islamabad visit. The Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that its primary focus remains discussions with Pakistan on bilateral and regional cooperation issues.

Experts believe that significant differences remain between the US and Iran, particularly regarding preconditions and policy positions, making any immediate breakthrough unlikely. Pakistan’s mediation effort is still at an early stage and faces considerable diplomatic challenges.

Attention now turns to whether Iran will respond with a proposal aligned with US conditions or whether the diplomatic initiative will stall amid ongoing tensions between the two countries.
