New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi held detailed discussions with Venezuela’s Acting President Delcy Rodríguez, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries. Both leaders emphasized expanding cooperation in key sectors such as energy, trade, and investment.
Acting President Delcy Rodríguez is currently on an official visit to India, during which she met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior officials of the Government of India. The two sides reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral relations and explored new opportunities for future collaboration.
According to sources, energy security remained a central point of discussion. Possibilities of increasing India’s crude oil imports from Venezuela were also considered. Both sides also discussed expanding cooperation in areas such as pharmaceuticals, healthcare, digital technology, and renewable energy.
The meeting comes at a time when India is actively diversifying its energy sources, with Venezuela being seen as an important partner in this strategy.
Both countries agreed to maintain high-level engagement and further deepen bilateral cooperation in the coming years.
