New Delhi: Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has urged BRICS nations to strengthen unity and collectively resist what he described as “US bullying” and coercive global policies.
Speaking at the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting held in New Delhi, Araghchi said several countries are currently facing various forms of external pressure and economic coercion. He stressed that it is important for emerging economies to respond in a coordinated manner rather than individually.
The Iranian minister stated that historical patterns show declining global powers often resort to increased pressure in order to maintain their influence. He added that BRICS should play a more active role in promoting a balanced and multipolar international order.
Araghchi further emphasized the need for deeper cooperation among BRICS member states to safeguard their sovereign decision-making and economic interests.
His remarks come at a time of heightened geopolitical tensions and ongoing debates over global power realignment, particularly involving Western nations and emerging economies.
