New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emphasized the need to strengthen multilateral cooperation and enhance economic resilience as India continues its BRICS Chairmanship.
During an interaction with foreign ministers and delegations of BRICS member countries in New Delhi, the Prime Minister stated that the grouping has emerged as an important platform for advancing cooperation among emerging economies and representing the aspirations of the Global South.
PM Modi said that under India’s leadership, BRICS aims to strengthen the multilateral system, promote sustainable development, and build a more inclusive global order.
Highlighting current global challenges, he noted that geopolitical tensions, supply chain disruptions, and economic uncertainties have made economic resilience and cooperation more important than ever.
According to official sources, India’s BRICS Chairmanship agenda focuses on reforming global governance systems and strengthening the role of developing nations in international affairs.
The interaction took place on the sidelines of the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, where senior diplomats from member countries discussed key global and economic issues.
India’s presidency is expected to further deepen cooperation among BRICS nations in areas such as trade, energy security, sustainable development, and reforms of global institutions.
