Desk : The seventh edition of the India–Uzbekistan joint military exercise ‘Dustlik’ concluded on Friday at the Gurumsaray Field Training Area in Namangan, Uzbekistan. The closing ceremony featured a final validation exercise, showcasing the combined operational capabilities of the armed forces of both nations.
The exercise was aimed at strengthening joint preparedness for counter-terrorism operations in semi-mountainous terrain and enhancing interoperability and coordination between the two armies. Throughout the exercise, troops engaged in joint planning, tactical drills, area operations, and the use of modern military techniques.
A key focus of the training was on drone-based surveillance, tactical assault operations, and quick reaction missions. The exercise significantly improved operational synergy and mutual trust between the two forces.
Initiated in 2019, ‘Dustlik’ has become an important annual defence cooperation initiative between India and Uzbekistan, alternately hosted by both countries.
With the successful completion of this year’s edition, both sides reiterated their commitment to further strengthening defence ties and regional security cooperation.
