New Delhi: India has firmly rejected Pakistan’s allegations linking it to the recent terrorist attack in Karachi, calling the claims “baseless” and “fabricated.” The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said Pakistan should focus on tackling terrorism within its own borders instead of making unfounded accusations against India.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said India has no connection whatsoever with the Karachi attack. He added that Pakistan’s repeated attempts to blame India for its internal security failures are neither credible nor supported by evidence.
The response came after Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi alleged, without presenting any proof, that “Indian proxies” were involved in the attack on the Pakistan Rangers’ headquarters in Karachi. India dismissed the allegation outright, describing it as another attempt to divert attention from Pakistan’s domestic security challenges.
The MEA reiterated that if Pakistan is serious about combating terrorism, it must take credible and sustained action against terrorist networks operating from its own soil. Resorting to baseless allegations, the ministry said, will not help address the threat of terrorism.
