Dussehra, also known as Vijayadashami, is celebrated every year on the tenth day (Dashami Tithi) of the Shukla
Paksha in the month of Ashwin. It holds immense significance in Sanatan Dharma. On this day, Goddess Durga defeated the demon Mahishasura, and Lord Shri Ram achieved victory over Ravana in Lanka. This is why Dussehra is celebrated as the festival of the triumph of truth and righteousness over evil and falsehood. The tradition of Ravana Dahan symbolizes the destruction of negativity and the victory of virtue.
