As part of an intensified crackdown on illegal immigration, the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has released a public database titled the “Worst of the Worst”, identifying what it describes as the most dangerous criminal illegal immigrants apprehended in the United States.
The list includes over 25,000 individuals, out of which 89 are of Indian origin, according to DHS data. The database is accessible on the official DHS website WOW.DHS.GOV, where it displays the names, photographs, nationalities, and criminal charges of those listed.
DHS said the initiative is aimed at increasing transparency and informing American citizens about criminal illegal immigrants arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP), as well as the communities where arrests have taken place.
Among those named are Amandeep Multani and Harjinder Singh, both identified as being of Indian origin and facing charges related to drug trafficking.
The department clarified that the list represents only a “snapshot” of enforcement actions and does not reflect the full scale of arrests made. Officials indicated that the total number of criminal illegal immigrants apprehended during the Trump administration’s second term could be significantly higher.
“We will not stop until every individual who terrorizes our communities is removed,” DHS said in a statement. “American citizens should not suffer at the hands of those who have no legal right to be here.”
Former President Donald Trump, who returned to office after campaigning on a hardline immigration agenda, had promised strict action against illegal immigration. Shortly after beginning his second term, Trump declared a “national emergency” at the southern border and reiterated his commitment to deporting criminal aliens.
However, the aggressive enforcement policy has triggered political and civil rights concerns. Reports of violent confrontations during immigration raids in several states have intensified criticism of ICE and CBP operations.
Both Democrats and a section of Republicans have called for reforms, including the mandatory use of body cameras, clearer identification of agents, and stronger oversight mechanisms to prevent abuse of power.
Immigration experts warn that while the list may influence future US immigration policy, it also risks stigmatizing immigrant communities and could escalate debates around human rights and due process at the international level.
Analysts say the “Worst of the Worst” initiative will likely remain a focal point in the broader discussion on border security, enforcement tactics, and America’s approach to immigration in the coming months.
