Desk : International reactions have begun to emerge after former United States President Donald Trump made a controversial remark about India. Iran strongly criticized Trump’s statement and openly expressed support for India.

According to media reports, Trump recently used insulting words while referring to India and China. In response, Iran said that making such remarks about a country with an ancient civilization and rich culture like India was inappropriate. Tehran advised Trump to first visit India, understand its culture, heritage, and diversity, and then make comments.

The Iranian Consulate in Mumbai also reacted to the matter by sharing visuals of India’s tourist destinations and cultural heritage. In its message, it said that making such statements without understanding India only reflects ignorance.

Meanwhile, Iranian representatives in Hyderabad stated that civilizations like India and China are treasures of world history. They added that the real crisis exists in places where leadership speaks only the language of threats and confrontation.

Trump’s remarks also triggered anger in India. The Ministry of External Affairs termed the statement inappropriate and unacceptable, saying such comments do not reflect the dignity of India-United States relations.

On the other hand, the American side later issued a clarification, saying Trump considers India a great nation and has always maintained good relations with its leadership.

Experts believe the controversy has started a fresh debate in diplomatic circles, especially at a time when India-United States ties are considered strategically important.
