Washington/Tehran: US President Donald Trump has issued a fresh warning to Iran, saying Tehran must agree to a diplomatic deal with Washington or face serious consequences. His remarks came as Iran observed funeral ceremonies for its late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Addressing reporters, Trump said the United States had refrained from taking any major action during the mourning period out of respect for the funeral rites. He added that Washington was prepared to resume diplomatic engagement once the ceremonies concluded but stressed that Iran must act quickly.

“We want a deal, but if they refuse, it will all be over,” Trump said, reiterating that the US remains committed to preventing Iran from advancing its nuclear ambitions. He maintained that diplomacy remains the preferred option but warned that military action remains on the table if negotiations fail.

Meanwhile, thousands of mourners gathered in Tehran and other parts of Iran to pay their final respects to Ayatollah Khamenei. The funeral processions witnessed strong anti-US and anti-Israel slogans, with senior Iranian leaders vowing to continue defending the country’s sovereignty and national interests.

Iran has not officially responded to Trump’s latest remarks. However, political analysts believe the coming days will be crucial in determining whether the two countries return to negotiations or witness a further escalation in tensions.
