Desk : A serious case of alleged gangrape involving two foreign women has surfaced in Pakistan, in which a relative of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has also been named as an accused. The incident has triggered strong political and administrative reactions in the country.
According to police officials, four suspects have been arrested in connection with the case, including one individual reportedly related to Ishaq Dar. All the accused have been produced before a court and sent into remand as investigations continue.
Reports suggest that the victims are citizens of the Netherlands and Venezuela. It is alleged that they were contacted and invited to Pakistan before being taken to Lahore, where the crime reportedly took place. Police have also stated that one more suspect remains absconding and efforts are underway to trace him.
Authorities have said that the investigation is being conducted from all possible angles, including possible conspiracy, communication records, and financial transactions. Statements of the victims and forensic evidence are being examined to establish the sequence of events.
