New Delhi : Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday described Operation Sindoor as a “powerful symbol of national resolve and military preparedness” while paying tribute to the courage and professionalism of the Indian Armed Forces on the anniversary of the operation.

The Defence Minister said the operation demonstrated India’s firm commitment to protecting its sovereignty and national security against every threat. He stated that the Indian Army, Air Force and Navy displayed exceptional coordination, strategic precision and operational excellence during the mission, setting a new benchmark for modern military operations.

In his message, Rajnath Singh praised the bravery and sacrifice of the armed forces personnel and said the nation takes immense pride in their dedication and valour. He added that Operation Sindoor has emerged not only as a successful military action but also as a symbol of India’s strong political will and zero-tolerance policy against terrorism.

Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7, 2025, following the Pahalgam terror attack, during which India carried out precision strikes on terrorist infrastructure located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Several terror launch pads and training camps were reportedly destroyed during the operation.

According to the Defence Ministry, the operation showcased India’s growing strategic capability, technological strength and swift military response on the global stage. Various commemorative and tribute events are also being organised across the country to mark the anniversary of the operation.
