Tehran Takes Hard Line: Refuses Temporary Truce, Lists 10 Demands

Tensions between the United States and Iran have once again escalated after sharp remarks from Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, who accused former U.S. President Donald Trump of making seven false claims within a single hour.

While the Iranian side did not specify which statements were considered false, the allegation has further intensified the already strained diplomatic atmosphere between the two countries.

Qalibaf questioned the credibility of Washington’s approach to dialogue, stating that discussions lose meaning when they are accompanied by misleading or untrue claims. He remarked, “What is the point of such talks if they are not based on truth?”

Rising Tensions Over Strait of Hormuz

Alongside the war of words, tensions have also been building around the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has indicated that it may take firm action if pressure on the country continues regarding the strategic waterway.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical energy routes, through which a significant portion of global crude oil shipments pass. Any disruption in the region could have a direct impact on international oil markets.

Iran’s Previous Rejections

Iran has previously dismissed several statements made by Trump, calling them inaccurate and misleading. The latest remarks add to the ongoing pattern of mistrust and political confrontation between Tehran and Washington.

Situation Remains Tense

The exchange of accusations highlights the continuing diplomatic rift between the two countries, with no clear signs of de-escalation in the immediate future.
