Defence and Diplomacy in Focus During PM Modi’s Israel Visit

Desk :  Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has responded to comments made by US Vice President JD Vance, stating that Israel is not solely dependent on one ally and enjoys strong support from multiple countries, including India. His remarks have drawn attention to India’s growing role in Israel’s foreign relations.

Netanyahu emphasized that while the United States remains a key strategic partner for Israel, its diplomatic and security ties are not limited to a single nation. He highlighted that Israel’s relations with countries like India have been steadily strengthening, particularly in the areas of defence cooperation, technology, and security collaboration.

The statement came after US Vice President JD Vance reportedly described the United States as Israel’s primary and most decisive ally. Rejecting this notion, Netanyahu said Israel’s foreign policy is built on a broad network of partnerships.

Experts note that India and Israel have significantly expanded their cooperation in recent years, especially in counter-terrorism efforts, defence technology, and strategic exchange programmes. This growing partnership is increasingly visible in global diplomatic alignments.

Netanyahu’s remarks are being viewed as a reflection of India’s rising strategic importance in global geopolitics and Israel’s evolving multi-aligned foreign policy approach.
