New Delhi: India has strongly rejected Pakistan’s remarks on Jammu and Kashmir at the United Nations General Assembly, describing them as baseless and part of a misleading narrative aimed at advancing Islamabad’s political agenda on international platforms.
Responding to Pakistan’s statements, India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, P. Harish, said that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral and inalienable part of India and that no amount of misinformation or political propaganda can alter this reality. He stated that Pakistan continues to misuse international forums to divert attention from issues that require its own urgent attention.
The Indian representative emphasized that the United Nations should not be used as a platform for spreading divisive narratives or pursuing narrow political objectives. Reiterating New Delhi’s long-standing position, he said that all matters relating to Jammu and Kashmir are India’s internal affairs and remain beyond the scope of external interference.
India further asserted that Pakistan’s repeated attempts to raise the issue at international forums have failed to gain traction because the facts remain clear and well established. The Indian side also urged the international community to remain guided by facts and not by politically motivated misinformation campaigns.
Reaffirming its commitment to peace and stability in the region, India maintained that constructive dialogue and responsible conduct are essential for regional progress, while unfounded allegations only serve to undermine mutual trust.
