The Hague: India and the Netherlands have further strengthened their bilateral relations by elevating them to a Strategic Partnership, marking a significant milestone in diplomatic and economic cooperation between the two nations.
Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten stated that both India and the Netherlands place high importance on democratic values and that in today’s complex global environment, it is crucial to rely on “like-minded partners” who share similar principles and outlooks.
His remarks came during high-level discussions held alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the Netherlands. The talks focused on expanding cooperation in key sectors including trade, technology, semiconductors, water management, and clean energy.
Both sides agreed to adopt an ambitious roadmap aimed at deepening economic engagement, boosting investment, and fostering innovation-driven collaboration between the two countries.
During the meeting, it was also emphasized that India and the Netherlands are not only economic partners but also share a common commitment to democratic values, open societies, and global stability.
The upgraded strategic partnership is seen as a major step toward strengthening long-term cooperation and enhancing coordination between the two countries on global platforms.
