Hare Rama-Hare Krishna resonated in temple of Kabul under Taliban rule

Kabul: The minority hindu Community in Afghanistan on Tuesday celebrated Navratri Festival at the ancient Asamai temple in Kabul.

Ram Sharan Singh, President of Management Committee for Asamai temple in Kabul, told that they organized a bhandara with kirtan and Jagran, in which the needy were fed. About 150 people had gathered in the program including Afghan Hindus and Sikhs.

These Hindus and Sikhs have also appealed to the Government of India to take them away from Afghanistan as soon as possible because of financial hurdles and social hardships faced by them. This temple is situated at a distance of 4-5 km from ‘Karte Parwan’ Gurdwara in Kabul which was ransacked by some unknown armed men last week.
