Washington: The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has announced a reward of up to USD 50,000 for information leading to the arrest of Satinderjeet Singh alias Goldy Brar, who is wanted for his alleged involvement in the Lawrence Bishnoi Organised Crime Group.
According to the FBI, Goldy Brar is believed to be the North American leader of the criminal network, which is accused of carrying out violent crimes, extortion and narcotics trafficking across the United States and Canada. The agency stated that a federal arrest warrant was issued against Brar on July 1, 2026, by the US District Court for the Central District of California in Los Angeles.
Federal prosecutors have charged Brar with Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) conspiracy, conspiracy to interfere with commerce through extortion, attempted interference with commerce by extortion, and conspiracy to distribute and possess controlled substances with intent to distribute.
Investigators said Brar has known connections to Sacramento and Fresno in California, along with links to Canada, India and Mexico.
The FBI’s announcement comes shortly after US federal prosecutors unveiled indictments against Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar, alleging that they orchestrated the assassination of Khalistani separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was shot dead outside a Sikh temple in Surrey, British Columbia, on June 18, 2023.
The charges were filed as part of Operation Hard Ball, a large-scale crackdown by the US Department of Justice targeting India-based organised crime groups accused of involvement in violent offences, extortion and international drug trafficking. In total, 37 individuals have been charged through three federal indictments.
The indictments also name alleged organised crime figures Jaggu Bhagwanpuria and Ravinder Singh Dhanda. Prosecutors claim Dhanda operated an international drug distribution network, while the Bhagwanpuria gang allegedly functioned as a transnational criminal syndicate with members across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
US authorities said the operation resulted in the seizure of cocaine and firearms, dealing a significant blow to organised criminal networks operating across international borders.
The US Department of Justice clarified that the indictments are allegations at this stage and that all accused are presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
The latest legal action comes against the backdrop of diplomatic tensions that emerged following Nijjar’s killing in 2023. Former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had alleged the involvement of Indian agents in the assassination, an allegation India strongly denied. Bilateral relations have since shown signs of improvement under the leadership of Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, with Ottawa indicating it no longer links India to criminal activities on Canadian soil.
