Deadly Explosion at Qatar LNG Facility Leaves 13 Dead and Dozens Injured

Doha: A powerful explosion at a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in Qatar has claimed at least 13 lives and left more than 66 people injured. The incident triggered chaos at the facility, prompting an immediate large-scale rescue and emergency response operation.

According to reports, the explosion was so intense that shockwaves were felt in surrounding areas. A fire broke out shortly after the blast, which took multiple firefighting teams several hours to bring under control. The injured have been shifted to nearby hospitals, where several are reported to be in critical condition.

Local authorities confirmed that citizens of India and Pakistan are among the deceased, though the full identification of victims is still underway. Officials have launched a detailed investigation into the cause of the explosion.

Preliminary assessments suggest that a technical failure or safety lapse could have led to the incident, but authorities have not confirmed the exact cause yet. Qatar’s government has expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and assured full support to the families of the victims.

A high-level safety audit of the plant has also been ordered, and security has been tightened across the area while investigation teams continue their work.
