During fasts, we often prefer light or sweet foods, but sometimes our taste buds crave something tangy and flavorful. Pumpkin Chaat is not only delicious for fasting days but also healthy and easy to prepare. This quick and nutritious recipe will add a burst of flavor to your fast.

Ingredients:

  • Pumpkin – 250 grams (cut into small cubes)
  • Rock salt – to taste
  • Roasted cumin powder – 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder – ½ tsp
  • Black salt – ¼ tsp
  • Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
  • Fresh coriander – 1 tbsp, finely chopped
  • Chaat masala or rock salt – as per taste (fast-friendly)

Method:

  1. Cook the pumpkin – Boil or steam the pumpkin cubes until tender. Make sure they are not too watery.
  2. Add spices – Mix in rock salt, black salt, roasted cumin powder, and red chili powder. Stir well so that the spices coat each pumpkin piece evenly.
  3. Add lemon and coriander – Pour in the lemon juice and gently mix. Garnish with fresh coriander.
  4. Serve immediately – Pumpkin Chaat tastes best when served fresh, retaining its tangy and crisp flavor.

Tips:

  • For a slightly sweet touch during fasts, add a little pure honey to the chaat.
  • Freshly grated coconut can enhance the flavor even more.
  • Chaat served chilled in summer tastes incredibly refreshing.

Enjoy this tangy pumpkin chaat during your fasts—it’s a perfect combination of taste and health without compromising on flavor.
