New Delhi : Amid reports suggesting that India and Pakistan held “Track-2” diplomatic talks in Colombo, senior BJP leader Ram Madhav has firmly denied any such development. He clarified that no bilateral or informal India-Pakistan dialogue took place in Sri Lanka’s capital.
Certain media reports had claimed that an informal interaction between representatives of the two countries occurred during a regional security conference in Colombo. However, Ram Madhav dismissed these claims as “completely false and misleading.”
He explained that he had attended the South Asia Dialogue organised by an international institution, which included participants from several countries including India, Sri Lanka, the United States, the United Kingdom, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. According to him, the event was strictly a multilateral forum and should not be misrepresented as a bilateral India-Pakistan engagement.
Madhav further stated that he was invited only to address a session and did not participate in any backchannel or unofficial diplomatic discussions.
The clarification comes amid growing political buzz over the alleged meeting, effectively putting an end to speculation surrounding the issue.
