After Xi meeting, Trump sees stronger future for US–China relations

Desk : US President Donald Trump has expressed strong optimism about the future of US–China relations, stating that ties between the two countries will become “stronger and better than ever before.”

The remarks came during high-level talks between Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing, where both leaders discussed key issues including trade, investment, technology, and global security.

During the meeting, Trump emphasized his intention to expand economic cooperation with China and strengthen bilateral trade relations. He also praised Xi Jinping, referring to him as a “great leader,” and described their personal rapport as friendly.

The discussions also covered long-standing points of tension between the two nations, including Taiwan, the Iran crisis, and growing technological competition. According to reports, Xi Jinping cautioned that mishandling the Taiwan issue could lead to serious escalation and heightened tensions.

Despite differences, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued dialogue and cooperation. Analysts suggest that the talks indicate a potential effort to stabilize relations between the world’s two largest economies.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has also welcomed continued dialogue between the US and China, noting that reduced tensions could support global economic growth.
