Desk : Large-scale protests have erupted across Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) against the Pakistani administration, with thousands of people taking to the streets following a call by the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC). Demonstrators are protesting the arrest of the group’s leaders and activists, alleging that the authorities are attempting to suppress their democratic rights.
According to reports, protesters raised anti-government slogans and demanded the immediate release of detained leaders. The demonstrators accused the administration of using force to silence peaceful protests. In response, security personnel have been deployed in several areas to maintain law and order.
Meanwhile, a statement attributed to JAAC leader Sardar Aman Khan has drawn widespread attention. He reportedly appealed to India and the people of Jammu and Kashmir for support, urging them to help the people of PoK and, if possible, cross the Line of Control (LoC) to assist them. The reported remarks have intensified political and strategic discussions surrounding the ongoing unrest.
Observers believe that public anger in PoK has been building for months due to rising inflation, economic hardship, unemployment, and inadequate public services. The recent arrests of protest leaders have further fueled the unrest, leading to widespread demonstrations across the region.
The Pakistani administration continues to monitor the situation closely, while protesters have vowed to continue their agitation until their demands, including the release of detained leaders, are met.
