PM Modi Conferred ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’ Honour in Seychelles

Desk : Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been conferred with the title of “Guardian of the Blue Horizon” by the Government of Seychelles in recognition of his contribution to environmental protection, sustainable development, and strengthening cooperation with small island nations.

The honour was presented by Seychelles President Patrick Herminie, marking one of the highest recognitions awarded by the island nation to a foreign head of government. The award highlights India’s growing engagement in climate action, marine security, and sustainable development in the Indian Ocean region.

During the ceremony, discussions were also held on key areas of bilateral cooperation, including maritime security, climate change, and development partnerships between India and Seychelles.

Prime Minister Modi is currently on a three-day visit to Seychelles as the chief guest for the country’s Golden Jubilee National Day celebrations. Several agreements were also signed during the visit, focusing on strengthening maritime cooperation and enhancing regional security frameworks.

After receiving the honour, PM Modi dedicated it to the global community working towards combating climate change. He reaffirmed India’s commitment to advancing green development and international cooperation for a sustainable future.
