New Delhi : The Central Government has reappointed Tushar Mehta as the Solicitor General of India for another three-year term, reaffirming its confidence in one of the country’s top law officers. The decision was announced through an official notification issued by the government.
Tushar Mehta, who has been serving as Solicitor General since 2018, is the second-highest law officer of the country after the Attorney General. In this role, he represents the Union Government before the Supreme Court, High Courts, and other judicial forums, while also providing legal advice on important constitutional and policy matters.
Along with Mehta’s reappointment, the government has also extended the tenure of several Additional Solicitors General who assist in representing the Centre in major legal cases across the country.
