Will the LPG Crisis End? India and UAE Sign Major Deal; PM Condemns Iranian Attacks

Desk: Amid the ongoing Iran conflict and the resulting global energy concerns, India and the UAE have signed a major energy agreement. The two countries have reached an understanding regarding the supply of LPG. Experts believe this deal could bring significant relief to India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently on a visit to the UAE. During his visit, he condemned the Iranian attacks and stated that India is ready to provide every possible support to restore peace.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that ensuring safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz has become extremely important. He added that whatever is necessary to establish peace in the region will be done. The two countries have also created a framework for strategic defense cooperation. It is worth noting that the Prime Minister arrived in the UAE for a four-hour visit, after which he will leave for a tour of Europe.

What Deal Was Signed?

India and the UAE signed an agreement related to strategic petroleum reserves. The two nations also reached a deal regarding the supply of cooking gas (LPG). The UAE has additionally announced major investments in India’s infrastructure and RBL sectors. According to reports, the UAE is expected to invest around 5 billion dollars.
