Iran Praises India Ties, Sends Strong Warning to the US

Desk : Amid rising geopolitical tensions in West Asia, Iran has delivered a strong message to the United States, describing itself as a “superpower” capable of defending its sovereignty and national interests against any external pressure. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baqaei said Iran would never bow before threats or coercion from global powers.

Speaking during an interview, Baqaei stated that Iran has endured years of sanctions, political pressure, and military threats while continuing to protect its independence and strategic interests. He said a nation that can stand firmly against powerful countries should not be viewed as weak.

Highlighting relations with India, the Iranian spokesperson praised the long-standing friendship between New Delhi and Tehran. He said the relationship between the two countries is rooted not only in diplomacy but also in deep historical and cultural ties that have strengthened over centuries.

Baqaei added that Iran takes pride in its relationship with India and considers New Delhi an important regional partner. He noted that both countries have consistently cooperated on various international platforms and continue to expand economic and strategic engagement.

On concerns related to the Strait of Hormuz, the Iranian spokesperson clarified that Tehran has no plans to impose additional charges on ships from India or any other country. He said Iran’s actions in the region are focused solely on protecting its national security and maritime interests.

Commenting on the ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States, Baqaei said the doors for dialogue are not completely closed, though a serious trust deficit remains between the two nations. He indicated that future diplomatic engagement could continue through regional mediators.
