New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the 133rd edition of his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat, highlighting global peace, India’s scientific progress, and achievements in the clean energy sector. He said that at a time when the world is facing conflicts and tensions, the message of peace, compassion, and restraint given by Lord Buddha can guide humanity.

The Prime Minister said the month of May is beginning with the sacred occasion of Buddha Purnima, which is not only a religious festival but also an opportunity to spread the values of peace, harmony, and coexistence. He noted that the teachings of Lord Buddha are more relevant than ever in today’s disturbed global environment.

Speaking about India’s scientific achievements, the Prime Minister said that the fast breeder reactor at Kalpakkam Nuclear Centre has achieved criticality. He described it as a major milestone for India’s nuclear energy programme and congratulated the scientists, engineers, and technical experts involved in the project.
