A senior Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) leader, Amir Hamza, was shot and critically wounded after unidentified gunmen opened fire on him in Lahore in what appears to be a targeted attack.

According to reports, the incident took place when Hamza was near a local media office in the city. Eyewitness accounts suggest that two armed assailants on a motorcycle approached his vehicle and fired multiple rounds before fleeing the scene.

Hamza sustained serious bullet injuries and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where his condition is said to be critical. Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation into the attack.

Initial inputs indicate that the attack was sudden and well-planned, raising suspicions of a targeted hit. However, no group has claimed responsibility so far, and the identities of the attackers remain unknown.

Amir Hamza is considered a key figure in Lashkar-e-Taiba’s ideological and propaganda machinery. He has long been associated with the group’s recruitment, media outreach, and strategic communication networks.

This is not the first time Hamza has been targeted. He had reportedly survived a similar assassination attempt in the past, highlighting ongoing internal rivalries and external pressure on militant networks operating in Pakistan.

Authorities are yet to confirm the motive behind the attack, and investigations are underway.
