20th February is World Social Justice Day. On this occasion, let’s understand what it means and how we can give our input to make the changes in our society to ensure each individual equally revives their basic human rights irrespective of their age, gender, and status of richness.
What’s social justice?
Social justice is the justice in basic human rights, justice in equality, justice in the basic distribution of wealth, justice in the distribution of opportunity, and basic rights as well as privileges.
There are still lots of differences among the human rights of the individual whether he or she is rich or poor, educated or uneducated, Employer or employee, King or queen, older or younger, fat or thin, black or white, and many more. Which creates havoc and snatches away the basic rights of the human being.
Let’s understand how we as a society can help and give our inputs:
Be Respectful
Being respectful to everyone is not an easy task, however we can be respectful to everyone around us as it matters the most to the one who has been the victim of social injustice. It has been said and it’s a fact that people will forget what you said and people will forget what you did but people never forget how you made them feel.
Be Relational
It is most important how we relate things when they go against us. It has been said that we say bad things when it happens to us. So if we can be relational with the process and understand social justice as a relatable issue we can show more humanity in actuality. Why get experience and work on the same better to learn from others and raise the voice with the society who are working for those issues.
Be Receptive
Listening has been the most important part when it comes to any kind of issue. We might not be able to listen to what we have not expected but it’s really necessary to listen to those social issues rather than judging and passing the fault comments. We as a society and as a public can help and support humanity at least for our good.
Be Responsive
Asking, speaking, and listening is done then comes time to take the action. Yes, we have to take action against that social justice and also we have to raise our voice when things are going against humanity. It is everyone’s right to get respect, gender equality, and equal opportunity for all. If we can’t do anything, at least we can be truthful and support the one who is working for the society.
At last, I would just say alone we can do so little but together we can do much much better.
