Big question for students today is- What to do after completion of a certain course? Main reasons behind this are lack of knowledge and information about the courses, job opportunities in the market, lack of entrepreneurial skills, fear in mind about the future, and wanting to get quick success and money. Relative and neighbor and peer pressure is also the reason for such fear in the minds of students. It is the responsibility of parents and teachers or school/college management to counsel students in overcoming their fear and provide them guidance for their career and future. Today’s internet generation also try to find out the solutions from various online sources but instead of solutions they get stuck in more problems. As in order to search for new courses for further study they come across with huge advertisements of various colleges and universities which are many times mislead students, even student don’t know the difference between for example MBA & PGDM and they encounter problem in finding suitable course as for themselves. Similarly, in case of finding a job, also there are many lucrative designation offered by companies but in reality the profile of such designation is such which a fresher doesn’t want to do and he finds himself in stress due to the differences in it.
What can be a solution for this query or problem of students? Here are the 03 important points that may be helpful in finding the solution itself:
SWOT Analysis- here the students or Aspirants have to analyse their strength which include their area of interest to study or to find a job, weakness means the skill they are lacking and which is important for them to pursue higher education or in doing any job of their interest designation. Opportunities are the available courses and jobs in the market and threat related to the background and financial status of family in paying the fee of a particular course and for job aspirants it is competition with their friends and others with better skill than them.
Discussion– After analyzing the strength, weakness , opportunity and threat on all the parameters. It is important for students and job aspirants to discuss the courses and career with experts, teachers, parents or any other person who is pursuing higher education or working in company because their experience and knowledge will help to analyse further the scope of any course of job in case of job seeker.
Self Analysis– it is a well known saying in Hindi that “Suno sabki karo apne man ki” (Listen to everyone, do your own mind). Here one thing I would like to add is “suno sabki karo apne man ki magar ache se dusro ke anubhavon se sikhte hue samjhdari se” (Listen to everyone, do your own mind but wisely from learning the experience of others).
These 3 points are very important for students who are in dilemma of choosing the courses for higher education and also for those who are in dilemma of choosing the career option. It is responsibility of parents/ guardians, teachers/tutors and college management as well to guide the students and share their experiences and arrange some orientation program for students and job aspirants make them interact with the expert and help them in analyzing their potential and find out the answer of their question by own without any fear and anxiety.
