New Delhi: Twitter has been asked by the Parliamentary Standing Committee for Information and Technology to appear before them on June 18 at 4 pm after a tussle with the central government over new IT rules. Twitter will give representation on how to prevent misuse of social media and online news on June 18.

The centre has recently given final notice to Twitter for compliance with new IT rules. Meanwhile, after repeated letters and communications from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology on the new IT rules, Twitter has assured to comply with the new rules.
