Speech helps one to express his feelings and communicate with other to exchange ideas and information. One with good speaking skill has an ability to teach, guide and counsel the others. Silence on the other hand is powerful tool to learn something from other by listening silently and gain knowledge to achieve something in life. Speech makes one to teach on other hand Silence makes one to gain knowledge. When one is silent and observe the things around him and listen to others experience and their life journey, he increases his knowledge.
Sometime a Silence can solve various deadly problem that Speech cannot. Many wars can be end by silence and few words of person can give rise to disputes and war which lead to destruction of society, nature, humiliation of people and destruction of life and economy and create situation of fear and danger in world. In his book “My experiment with truth”, Mahatma Gandhi wrote that he was very shy and silent boy in his childhood and he always thought that it is his weakness, but during national movement of freedom when he did various Satyagrah against the Britishers, he found that his silence in various occasion became the strong weapon to fight against Britishers without any violence. Silence itself speaks so much which long words and conversation cannot say. For example, if two best friends meet after a long time, they have so many things to share, their complain, secret etc but they share silence which itself speaks a lot about their feelings, how much they missed each other, their complain, emotions etc. which are expressed silently and posses so much personal touch and emotions.
Silence has greater power than speech it helps to understand our inner self and help to understand our soul and nature. Silence is itself a language which is helpful in expressing. This is the reason how Mother understand the silence of his child much better than other. She understands everything about his child whether child has told her anything or not. We offer prayer to God and remember him with hope that our all problem will be solved by him. Silence is powerful engine of our life. When we are happy it calms us when we are sad or have any problem it helps to support and find out solutions of problem and give courage. Silence is far better and helpful in gaining knowledge than speaking harsh or clumsy words. Hence, Speech is Silver BUT Silence is Golden.
