Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently had a telephonic conversation with US President Donald Trump, as confirmed by sources. This marks their first discussion since Trump’s inauguration on January 20. Seven days after assuming office, President Trump engaged with PM Modi, who seemingly adopted a “wait and watch” strategy before initiating the dialogue.
President Trump has been a global headline-maker even before the start of his second term. From his strong statements on Canada, Greenland, and China to taking strict measures on illegal immigration, he has remained a prominent figure in international news. However, on the H-1B visa issue, he has provided significant relief to Indian and other foreign professionals.
Notably, three months ago, Trump secured a landslide victory by defeating Democratic candidate Kamala Harris to become President. His grand inauguration ceremony in Washington witnessed the presence of global dignitaries, including Indian business tycoon Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita Ambani. Several Indian-American figures, such as Google CEO Sundar Pichai, were also in attendance at the event.
