Madhubani: On the occasion of Panchayati Raj Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended a government event in Bihar’s Madhubani district. Addressing the gathering, PM Modi began by paying tribute to the victims of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
Before starting his speech, he urged the thousands present at the rally to observe a moment of silence to honor those who lost their lives in the attack. “Before I begin, I request you all to stay seated and observe a few moments of silence in remembrance of those we lost on the 22nd. Let us remember them with reverence, keeping our respective deities in mind,” he said.
Speaking on the horrific incident that took place on April 22, where terrorists brutally killed innocent civilians in Pahalgam, PM Modi expressed deep sorrow, stating that the entire nation is in grief and stands with the bereaved families. “Some lost their sons, some their brothers, some their life partners. They spoke different languages—Bengali, Kannada, Marathi, Odia, Gujarati—and some were sons of Bihar. But today, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, our grief is the same. Our outrage is the same,” he said.
He emphasized that this attack was not just on unarmed tourists but a direct assault on the soul of India. “The enemies of the nation dared to strike at the heart of our unity,” he said.
Sending a stern warning to the perpetrators, PM Modi declared, “Those responsible for this attack, the terrorists and their conspirators, will face punishment beyond their imagination. The time has come to wipe out the remaining roots of terrorism completely.”
He also assured that the government is making every effort to ensure the speedy recovery of those injured in the attack and reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to fighting terrorism with full force.
