Desk:Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday described the ‘Mahakumbh’ as an extraordinary confluence of unity and equality. Speaking during the 118th episode of his monthly radio program, Mann Ki Baat, and the first episode of 2025, he highlighted the timeless tradition of Mahakumbh, emphasizing its essence of inclusivity, free from discrimination and casteism.
PM Modi noted the increasing participation of youth in the Mahakumbh, stating that when younger generations connect with their civilization with pride, their cultural roots strengthen, paving the way for a golden future.
He also mentioned festivals like ‘Kumbh,’ ‘Pushkaram,’ and the ‘Ganga Sagar Mela,’ celebrating their role in fostering social harmony and unity. According to him, these festivals connect people with India’s traditions. He pointed out that at the Kumbh, people from all corners of the country, regardless of their social or economic backgrounds, come together, take a holy dip at the Sangam, and partake in communal feasts, symbolizing equality and togetherness.
PM Modi underscored the unifying aspect of Kumbh, which binds India with its rich traditions and heritage. He reiterated the importance of the youth embracing their heritage to secure a bright future.
Highlighting India’s achievements in space, the Prime Minister said that the country is reaching new milestones in space technology. He also called the upcoming Republic Day special, marking the 75th anniversary of the Indian Constitution.
He paid tribute to the visionaries of the Constituent Assembly, such as Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, and Syama Prasad Mukherjee, and played excerpts from their historic speeches during the drafting of the Constitution.
Additionally, the Prime Minister mentioned National Voter’s Day, celebrated on January 25, marking the establishment of the Election Commission of India. He praised the Commission for modernizing and strengthening India’s electoral process, empowering voters through the use of technology. PM Modi urged citizens to actively participate in elections and strengthen the democratic fabric of the nation.
