Desk: A Pakistani diplomat has sparked outrage after making a throat-slitting gesture towards protesters outside the Pakistani High Commission in London. The incident, captured on camera, has fueled anger both at the scene and across social media. Reports indicate that Taimur Rahat, serving as the Defence Attaché at the London mission, was seen making the threatening gesture.
The situation escalated when people of Indian origin gathered outside the Pakistani embassy to protest the Pahalgam terror attack and demand that Pakistan stop supporting terrorism. During the demonstration, several Pakistani diplomats appeared on the rooftop of the embassy and began provoking the protesters.
Pakistani Diplomat Waves Poster of Wing Commander Abhinandan
In an attempt to provoke the Indian protesters further, Pakistani officials waved a poster of Indian Air Force Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman — who had downed a Pakistani F-16 fighter jet in 2019 before crashing and being captured in Pakistan.
Along with waving the poster, a Pakistani diplomat pointed at the protesters and made a throat-slitting gesture. The diplomat’s behavior was met with laughter from those around him, further inflaming tensions.
Following the incident, there has been a surge of outrage, with many demanding that the Pakistani diplomat be expelled and sent back to Pakistan for his threatening conduct.
