Pakistan has been given a major relief by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The IMF has approved a $500 million disbursement to the government of Imran Khan, which was badly engulfed on the economic front. Pakistan, facing the Corona pandemic and economic crisis, will help improve people’s lives with this debt. The special thing is that Pakistan has received relief from the IMF at a time when its good relations with India have begun to rumble.
The International Monetary Fund said on Wednesday that it approved a $500 million disbursement to Pakistan for budget support after the IMF Executive Board completed delayed reviews of Pakistan’s $6 billion loan program.
“The program aims to support Pakistan’s policies to help the economy and save lives and livelihoods amid the still unfolding COVID-19 pandemic, ensure macroeconomic and debt sustainability, and advance structural reforms to lay the foundations for strong, job-rich, and long-lasting growth that benefits all Pakistanis,” the Fund said.
Notably, after Imran Khan came to power, the economical condition of Pak became more turbulent. Imran Khan’s government is currently surrounded by internal problems such as Corona, inflation, corruption and the economic front. Due to the case in the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), it has almost stopped getting loans from international institutions. In such a situation, IMF has given the country a big relief. Imran Khan has said a few days ago that his government is not able to spend much on health and education due to lack of funds.
