Pakistan PM Imran Khan exposed• 52% forced conversion cases reported in Pakistan

Pakistan PM Imran Khan, who often curses India, does not see excesses in his country with minorities. But the data released by Pakistan’s rights group on the issue of human rights has exposed the Imran government.

The group has claimed that 52 per cent of the reported cases of alleged forced conversion of women had occurred in Punjab province.

It clearly states that the underage girls from the religious minority communities have been targeted by the majority Muslim community of Pakistan.

Often the incidents of forced conversions by abducting the sisters-daughters of minority community from Pakistan continue to unfold, but cases of forced conversions with the Hindu, Sikh and Christian community on such a large scale has exposed the real face of Imran Khan, PM of Pakistan.

The Pakistani newspaper Dawn referring to an organisation called CSJ, stated that around 162 questionable conversions had been reported between 2013 and 2020.

The organisation, Center for Social Justice (CSJ), made the revelation during a discussion titled ‘Forced Conversion Complaints and Religious Freedom’ which was held online on Saturday, Dawn news reported.

Besides Punjab, 44 per cent of these incidents had also taken place in Sindh, while 1.23 per cent each were reported in the federal and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa areas, while one case (0.62 per cent) occurred in Balochistan, according to CSJ data.

The highest number of such cases, 21, was reported in Bahawalpur during the past seven years.

The figures showed that 54. 3 per cent of the victims of forced conversion belonged to the Hindu community, while 44. 44 per cent were Christian and 0. 62 per cent belonged to the Sikh communities, the CSJ said. Over 46. 3 per cent of the victims of forced conversion were minors — some 32. 7 per cent of them aged between 11-15 years.
