Islamabad: Pakistan has been isolated on the world map these days as it’s giving shelter to terrorism. Due to this, the country is constantly facing all-round attacks. This is the reason why economic conditions are also deteriorating. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s approach is changed on Thursday. Imran Khan’s government said that we were always ready to resolve all pending issues with India and never shied away from negotiations.
Foreign Office spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry made the comments at the weekly media briefing when asked about the possibility of talks with India in the wake of new understanding between the Directors General Military Operations (DGMOs) of the two countries.
“Pakistan has never shied away from talks and has always called for peaceful resolution of all outstanding disputes” including Jammu and Kashmir, he said.
India last month said that it desires normal neighbourly relations with Pakistan in an environment free of terror, hostility and violence. India has said the onus is on Pakistan to create an environment free of terror and hostility.
“Our position is well-known. India desires normal neighbourly relations with Pakistan in an environment free of terror, hostility and violence,” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said. “The onus is on Pakistan for creating such an environment.”
The United States on Wednesday welcomed the steps taken by India to return the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to full economic and political normalcy consistent with India’s democratic values.
State Department Spokesperson Ned Price said the US, at the same time, continues to follow developments in Jammu and Kashmir closely.
The US policy with regard to Kashmir has not changed, Price told reporters at his daily news conference.
“We welcome steps to return the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to full economic and political normalcy consistent with India’s democratic values. As we’ve said before, Secretary (of State Tony) Blinken has had a couple opportunities to speak to his Indian counterpart, both bilaterally and in the context of the Quad,” Price said.
