Desk:On Tuesday, a gunmen attack took place on the Jaffar Express train in Pakistan, where Baloch militants took around 450 passengers hostage. The incident occurred in the volatile southwestern Balochistan province. According to reports, the gunmen opened fire on the train, injuring several people, including the driver.
Senior railway officer Muhammad Kashif from Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, confirmed that the attackers stopped the train and held the passengers hostage. The Jaffar Express was en route from Quetta to Karachi when the attack occurred. The gunmen not only took the passengers hostage but also fired shots at the train.
Pakistani authorities responded immediately by dispatching security forces to the site to control the situation. Efforts to release the hostages and treat the injured passengers are currently underway.
This attack has further heightened security concerns in Balochistan, an area already facing ongoing terrorist activities and insurgent attacks. The incident adds to the growing tensions in the region, where Baloch separatists continue to raise their voices against the Pakistani government.
