New Delhi: Pakistan- ‘The synonym of terrorism‘, engaged in terrorist attacks against India has once again tried to enter the border. Pakistan’s conspiracy to spread terror in India from India-Pakistan border area in Gurdaspur in Punjab has been exposed. Security forces have found a large number of grenades in Gurdaspur. A senior Punjab police official said on Monday that security forces have seized 11 hand grenades in Gurdaspur district. It is suspected that all these grenades have been dropped from the Pakistan border by a drone. All these grenades are suspected to have been made by an ordnance factory in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
Border Security Force personnel at the Chakri border outpost in Gurdaspur sector had spotted a drone entering Indian territory shortly before Saturday midnight. The soldiers, and later Punjab police officers also, fired at the drone but couldn’t bring it down. The drone then returned back towards Pakistan.
After this, the police and BSF team conducted a search operation in Slach village on Sunday morning and recovered 11 grenades. A senior police officer said the box of the grenade was attached to a wooden frame and grounded by a drone using a nylon rope.
A senior Punjab Police official said that The consignment of Arges Type HG-84 series grenades, packed in a plastic box, is the eight instance of seizure of firearms and grenades smuggled into the country for terrorists from across the border in the last 15 months. It is worth noting that the range of HG-84 grenades is up to 30 meters radius. HG-84 grenades have also been used in India in 2008 Mumbai terror attack, 1993 terrorist attack and 2001 Parliament attack.
The seizure comes at a time when intelligence agencies have alerted security forces to the Pakistani ISI’s move to buy an upgraded version of the drone from China. Actually, Pakistan uses advanced drones made by China to smuggle more and more firearms.
