Desk: First, spill blood in India, then talk peace… Pakistan has once again resorted to its old tactics. After the Pahalgam attack, when India began striking back at terrorism, Pakistan’s bluster faded away. Following India’s strong actions, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif stated on Thursday that he is ready for peace talks with India.
The responsibility for this terrorist attack was claimed by the TRF, an organization operating under the umbrella of Lashkar-e-Taiba, directly under the shadow of Pakistan’s army and ISI. Subsequently, on May 7, India launched Operation Sindoor, targeting nine terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and PoK.
For four days, there was confrontation with drones, missiles, and long-range weapons, after which Pakistan was forced to come to the negotiating table. According to Reuters’ report, Pakistan is now ready for peace talks with India.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar clarified on Thursday that talks will only happen when Pakistan completely eradicates the infrastructure of terrorism within its borders. He stated, “Pakistan knows what it needs to do. We have a list of terrorists handed over to them. As long as the pipeline of terrorism continues, there will be no talks.” He also made it clear that the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty will remain in cold storage until Pakistan’s terrorism is completely eradicated.
