Desk:The investigation into the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, is still underway. Meanwhile, it has emerged that one of the terrorists involved may have links to the Pakistani Army. However, there has been no official confirmation of this from the Indian Army or the government. Earlier, agencies had identified three terrorists and released their sketches.
One of the Pakistani terrorists involved in the Pahalgam massacre has been identified as Hashim Musa. According to a report by The Times of India, investigations into the conspiracy have revealed that Musa is a former para commando of Pakistan’s Special Forces. Sources informed the newspaper that Musa is currently associated with the terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba and was sent to Jammu and Kashmir to instill fear among non-locals and security forces.
An official told the newspaper, “It is possible that Musa was loaned to Lashkar by Pakistani Special Forces like the SSG (Special Services Group).” SSG para commandos are trained experts in covert operations. They are skilled in using heavy weaponry, hand-to-hand combat, navigation, and survival techniques.
According to the report, a senior officer stated that during the interrogation of 15 Kashmiri ground workers—who were prime suspects in the Pahalgam attack—it came to light that Musa had a military background. Notably, Musa’s military links are being viewed as further evidence of the ISI’s involvement in the Pahalgam attack.
The report also highlighted that Musa was involved in the Gagangir terror attack in October 2024, where six non-locals and a doctor were killed. He was also implicated in the attack at Buta Pathri in Baramulla, where two soldiers and a civilian lost their lives.
