Hello Mr Ameen Izadeen,
I am writing this reply to you as there has been constant criticizing from you against India. Previously you used to even connect problem of other countries to India
Anyways coming this piece of yours – I really have strong objections the way you have portrayed the past relationship between India and Sri Lanka.
Just a glance at history of Sri Lanka in connection with India:
1) Sri Lanka got independence on February 04, 1948.
2) After that if you see approximately every 04 years till 1983 there were Sihnala – Tamil riots. What you do?? You allow the affected Tamils to cross sea and land in India. This created lot of issues for India. You can verify this by reading Gota’s war written by C.A. Chandraprema.
3) During India’s war with Pakistan and China – what you did….you supported Pakistan and China while saying India is your elder brother.
4) During cold war you allowed Americans to come to Sri Lanka so that they can check-on on India.
5) You did not had any issue when UK / EU / USA objected your finishing off of tigers for few thousand votes but have objection with India where entire state and hence country is getting affected.
6) Till 1983 India as a nation state did not interfered in Sri Lanka. What infact India was requesting you was let your problem be sorted by you. If you send battered / bruised Tamils into Tamilnadu then will we not have internal problem.
7) Are you saying before 1983 there was no existence of LTTE or that kind of terrorism in Sri Lanka. They were already getting trained in Palestine and all sort of places, were having funds to even run sea-ships of their own.
8) Even after 1983 in 03 years, India picks Prabhakaran from his bastion and brings to negotiation table. What you did? You forced India to be party of problem.
9) Even when India sends the troops for both of you to stop fighting. You start supporting LTTE and gave them arms to kill the same Indian force.
10) Mr. Mahinda was not even allowed to speak in UK due to few hundred Tamils protesting there and you even hit the Prime Minister of India when he was your guest here.
So, if you are journalist do report correct as your readers will have the view of yours in their mind.
If you can’t report right then better don’t report on India!
