The colonial mindset is on full display. By calling a deadly virus as Indian indicates the deep mindset of past colonization where the subject will always be put down by some or the other means.
It is so surprising that even though WHO has named it Delta Variant but so called Old Masters insist on adding Indian name to it.
The same group of mindset though is damn scared of calling the actual COVID virus as Chinese Virus because it is money that China pumps in, forces them to keep the mouth shut.
But who is to be blamed ??
Are we not to be blamed, what the babus of High Commissions doing to avoid this. Forget about the perks they get when I am paying taxes, forget about the good life they live in a country like UK which is built from my ancestors money, even the small countries like Sri Lanka and others which are surviving on the Chinese Ventilators have started calling this variant as Indian variant. Our High Commission in such countries is sleeping.
I remember Mr Modi’s first visit to USA and he said the same thing about our High Commissions that they sleep, they don’t even pick the phone. The whole hall clapped echoing the same opinion that High Commissions don’t care of the Country’s reputation anywhere. Point in case is the above letter that High Commission of Australia sent to the leading news paper in Australia i.e. The Australian asking them to clarify the news regarding the handling of COVID crisis in India.
If you notice the above letter you will find that the email id is corrected with pen. Don’t we have even 1 dollar to print a proper letter head. Come on you are representing India which is a global power now in terms of knowledge, market, Information technology, medicals and what not and you don’t have a proper letter head. Don’t you feel a bit of shame in acting like this Or you are happy that kids are studying in good schools on Indian tax payers money so बस मेरा तो जनम सफल हो गया ……………
It is this mindset that puts us down. I remember there was an article about Russia helping LTTE in the past in a daily Sri Lanka news paper and very next day Russian Embassy sent clarification and the news paper has no option but to print it. After that there is no such news anywhere. Now what our High Commission does there when every other week there is news propagating anti India narrative…..as Mr Modi said in USA – they don’t do anything !!
