Desk:Tensions between India and Pakistan have escalated into full-blown war following the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali national. In retaliation, India launched Operation Sindoor, carrying out cross-border strikes that reportedly eliminated nearly 100 terrorists in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and inside Pakistani territory.
Enraged by India’s bold offensive, Pakistan has officially initiated warfare. In response, India has launched counterstrikes, targeting multiple Pakistani cities, including Lahore. Meanwhile, Pakistan has carried out attacks on Indian cities such as Jalandhar, Jammu, and Jaisalmer.
Amidst the escalating conflict, India has received a strong message of support from neighboring Nepal. The Nepali Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement expressing solidarity with India during this challenging time. “We stand with India in this moment of grief and hardship,” the statement read.
Nepal unequivocally condemned the brutal terrorist attack and emphasized its firm stance against all forms of terrorism. The statement further added that Nepal supports India’s right to respond decisively to such threats. Reaffirming its commitment to regional peace, Nepal assured that its territory would never be used against neighboring nations.
While expressing hope for an early end to hostilities, Nepal urged both India and Pakistan to de-escalate tensions and work towards restoring peace and stability in the region.
Meanwhile, India has ramped up its diplomatic efforts. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has been in constant touch with global counterparts, briefing them on the situation and India’s rationale behind its military actions. He has already spoken to leaders from the European Union, Italy, and U.S. Secretary of State Rubio, emphasizing how Pakistan has consistently sponsored cross-border terrorism and how India was left with no option but to respond through airstrikes after the latest Pahalgam attack.
