India’s Position on the U.S. Election
India’s Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar emphasized that India has witnessed “continuous progress” in its relationship with the U.S. across the past five presidencies, including Trump’s first term. Responding to questions about the future of the Quad (which includes the U.S., India, Australia, and Japan), Jaishankar stated his confidence that regardless of the election outcome, India-U.S. relations will remain strong. He also noted that the Quad was revived in 2017 during Trump’s presidency, gaining ministerial-level importance.
